Henry Trading is my name and what I do, after a few years of so much change in this south facing port town, and seven years of Portico, it was easy to re-emerge down the street as Henry Trading.
I am away laughing in Mahars Draperys old premises at number 33, with sash windows at the back and an aspidistra at the door.
The shop has an unexpected zig zag shape and a lot more wall space to display wares under the tin ceiling. It is really lovely. The last few months have been spent hunting and gathering from near and far.
Knitting, jewellery and childrens clothes from Lyttelton, sandals from Spain, stainless steel from Dunedin, soap from Waiheke Island and ceramics from Poland.
Svord knives from Bryan Baker in Waiuku are fantastic and Kate Watts Lyttelton Crest tee shirts and tea towels are selling out.
Also, the Safran House Posters of Harbour Nurse Lucy are near the end of the edition but there is a saucy mermaid and her sister and a cat called Perseverance coming soon…
Thank you to everyone who make things for my shop and thank you to all the locals who buy things from my shop, especially on that rainy Wednesday in July!
