Nuk Korako MP
National List MP based in the Port Hills
In September 2014 I was elected to the New Zealand Parliament as a National List MP. I live in the Port Hills electorate, and work throughout the area from both my Ferrymead and mobile office. My responsibilities in Parliament include chairing the Māori Affairs Select Committee and being a member of the Local Government and Environment Select Committee.
Prior to entering Parliament I was already an active member of the Port Hills community. I have vast experience in business, both domestic and international. My iwi affiliations are with Ngāi Tahu, Kati Mamoe, Waitaha and Rapawai. I have six generations of family history in the Port Hills with diverse backgrounds.
I have diverse experience in the tourism sector, having grown a successful tourism business providing international tours for New Zealand and overseas clients.
It is a privilege to serve as a National List MP based in the Port Hills and I think it’s important I work hard to stay in touch with our local community. To help with this, I have a mobile office based in Lyttelton on the second Monday of every month. You can find me along London Street between 10am-12pm.
