Design Philosophy

Our aim is to provide leading edge engineering expertise in our field. We do this by applying our skills, experience, creativity, and passion to our clients’ projects in order to deliver great value.

We have highly focused teams who enjoy taking personal ownership of your project, as our challenge. We want your project to succeed.

How do we approach our work?

Building The Project Team

To provide the right solution, needs the right team. If we are not right for your project, we will tell you, and assist you to find a better match.

If we think that we can help, we will discuss how we can best achieve the solution.

The Concept

We believe the conceptual design stage is critical to achieving a successful building development. We bring together the ideas and criteria to create one or more concepts for the project. This is often a complex mix of: Client requirements; Site factors; Construction issues and buildability; local regulations; Building code requirements; Future flexibility considerations; Technical limitations and opportunities; Experience

The resulting concept is subject to critical internal review and external approval before being adopted as the basis of the design.

Detailed Design

Taking the concept to a level of documentation necessary to approve, price, build, and lease or sell the project.

We use our skills to provide effective and clearly presented designs. We make use of our pre-engineered solutions where appropriate to speed the process and provide value.

We liaise with other members of the project team, including the builder if possible, to ensure that all features of the design are agreeable to everyone involved.

Our experience shows that short-cutting documentation can lead to increased project costs and construction problems. We therefore provide a level of service to support what we consider gives the best overall project value for our clients.

We aim to let the contractors get on with their job during construction, by making sure they have the right information beforehand. We will brief them on any critical issues, monitor their work, and be available when they need specific advice.

We will listen to the contractor. Buildability issues are so important to a successful project; any constructive feedback is assessed as part of our continuous improvement policy.
